Working out at home is becoming more and more popular these days. And for good reason – there are a ton of benefits to be had! Here are just a few:

How I started

I know when I decided I want to workout I didn't want to go to the gym. It was too expensive and I didn't have time to go regularly. So, I started working out at home and it was the best decision I ever made! Not only did it save me money, but it also allowed me to get a great workout in without having to travel to the gym.

Later when I became more fit I started to go to the fitness. But, I still work out at home regularly because it's just so convenient. And, I actually enjoy it more now that I'm used to it.

What do you need to start

You don't need any equipment to workout at home but if you want to get the most out of your workout, I recommend investing in some basic equipment. A set of dumbbells, a yoga mat and a stability ball are all great options that will allow you to do a variety of exercises.

If you're looking for a more challenging workout, then I recommend using a sandbag. They're great for building muscle and strength and they're really versatile too. You can use them for a variety of exercises like squats, lunges, presses and more.

Different ways of working out

There are plenty of different ways to workout at home, depending on what you're looking for.

If you want to follow a structured workout plan, there are plenty of options available online and in fitness apps. For example, the 7 Minute Workout app is a popular choice that provides quick and effective workouts that can be done at home with no equipment.

If you're looking for more of a guidance, there are also plenty of workout videos available on YouTube and other platforms. These can be a great way to get motivated and learn new exercises.

Of course, you don't always need to follow a specific plan or video - sometimes it can be helpful just to do what feels right in the moment. This might mean going for a run around the block, doing some bodyweight exercises in your living room. There is no wrong way to workout, as long as you're doing something that gets you moving and that you enjoy. Just remember to listen to your body and not overdo it in the beginning.

How intensive should a home workout be?

This is a question with no definitive answer - it depends on your individual fitness level and goals. If you're just starting out, it's probably best to start slow and gradually increase the intensity of your workouts over time. However, if you're already fairly active, you may want to go all-out from the start.

Here are a few general guidelines to help you determine the intensity of your home workouts:
  • If you can talk easily while working out, your intensity level is probably too low. You should be working hard enough that you can only say a few words at a time.
  • If you're drenched in sweat by the end of your workout, you're probably working at a good intensity level.
  • If you can't finish your workout because you're too exhausted, you may be pushing yourself too hard. Try backing off the intensity a bit next time.
